check out some of the most commonly asked questions:
When does registration open? Cost? Cancellation fee?
Registration opens on Sunday, March 29th at 12:00am. Before May 3, the cost for camp is $275/student and $260/leaders. Afterwards, the cost increases $25 and the cost will increase again on June 15th. Cancellations done on or after July 1, 2026 will be subject to a $75 cancellation fee.
Where's the packing list? Check-in times? Check out?
You should've received this information in the confirmation email. If you didn't, let us know because we might have an incorrect email on file. Check-in is on Monday, July 20th between 6-8pm (do not arrive earlier than 6pm). Check out is on Thursday, July 23th after lunch. Please, plan accordingly.
Here's the packing list:
Bible, notebook and something to write with
Personal hygiene products/toiletries
Sunblock and bug spray
Bedsheets (twin mattress), pillow, blanket, sleeping bag
Towel
Appropriate warm weather clothes (& clothes that can get dirty)
Well-loved tennis shoes (do not bring new shoes), flip-flops, water shoes
Appropriate swimming suits (no bikini or speedo-like bathing suits)
Spending money for snacks
We HIGHLY encourage campers to NOT bring expensive electronic devices, like phones, AirPods, tablets, handheld video gaming systems, etc. Virginia NYI is not responsible for any items that go missing.
DO NOT BRING things that you wouldn't be allowed to have on school, such as, but not limited to, pocketknives, fireworks, weapons, drugs/alcohol, etc. Having such things will result in the camper being sent home from camp.
It's my first year at camp. What should I expect?
If you’re a student, come ready to have fun and grow deeper in your relationship with God and others! It’s important for you to know that although we are working hard to have dynamic worship services, exciting games and competitions, fun recreational opportunities, and so much more, camp will be what you make of it! You’re invited to come ready to enjoy and to be flexible when things change (because they do, that’s okay)!
If you’re a leader, come ready to jump in! We’ll ask you to help us during the camp to serve in different areas from games to supervision and more. This helps us ensure that we’re keeping our young people safe, while facilitating a week of fun! We truly can’t do it without you!
Wait, what team competitions? What’s that about?
Before you arrive to camp, you will be placed on a color team. Throughout the week, there will be team competitions and skill challenges, and ultimately, one team will be crowned the Ultracamp Champions! You have to know that the winning team is chosen on a well-sealed list of criteria, so you never know who may actually get it! The winning team is honored by having the camp shirt be that color the following year. Last year, Team Purple won! Who will it be this year?
What about safety? Is there a minor protection policy?
Yes, we have a Minor Protection Policy in place. You can read it at virginianyi.com All our adult leaders on the grounds are background checked and trained on sexual abuse awareness. We take the safety and wellbeing of our young people very seriously. We have a safety team that will help us throughout the week.
